Anthony Rizzo Files Formal Objection After Second Ballot Disqualification: Calls for Transparency and Fairness in Monroe Elections

Independent candidate for Town Supervisor Anthony

Rizzo has filed a formal letter of objection to the Orange County Board of

Elections after being disqualified from the November 2025 ballot—

despite submitting a valid petition with the required number of

signatures and filing all documents on time.

This marks the second time this election cycle that Mr. Rizzo has been

removed from the ballot without explanation. Earlier in the year, he was

similarly disqualified from the Republican primary under questionable

circumstances. In both cases, Rizzo claims he was never notified of the

specific objections, never provided evidence, and denied an opportunity

to contest the challenges—a violation of rights guaranteed under New

York State Election Law §6-154.

"The voters of Monroe deserve better," said Rizzo. "This is not just about

me as a candidate—this is about every resident’s right to participate in a

fair, open, and democratic election process. I followed the law, did the

work, and met every requirement. I have yet to see a single piece of

evidence explaining why I’ve been denied a place on the ballot."The objections to his Independent petition were reportedly filed by or on

behalf of the incumbent supervisor, raising concerns about political

interference and lack of due process. Rizzo's formal letter calls for:

- A full written explanation of the objections;

- Disclosure of the objector(s) involved;

- Evidence that due process was followed;

- Reinstatement on the November ballot.

Rizzo, a lifelong Monroe resident and active community member,

emphasized that he entered the race to give Monroe voters a real choice

in leadership—one focused on transparency, fiscal responsibility, and

revitalizing community trust.

"I will not be silenced by backroom politics. I will continue to fight for the

people of Monroe, whether I’m on the ballot or not," Rizzo said.

His campaign urges the public to demand accountability and supports

broader efforts to reform the election challenge process in Orange

County to ensure transparency, fairness, and democratic integrity.
